The Topic
If your world is drained of meaning and you’re despairing because nothing familiar helps or seems to work, welcome to soul-crisis. Accompanying people through the vulnerability of soul-crisis can be daunting but deeply rewarding for adventurous coaches and consultants who are prepared to seek out for their clients sources of renewal in non-traditional places. In this session we will explore the idea of coach as existential anthropologist, skilled in identifying and exploring resources for personal and collective renewal which are found on the margins of mainstream culture (itself undergoing its own soul-crisis), and rendering them fit for purpose in the organizations we serve.
The Agenda
In the first half of the webinar, Leslie will make her presentation and facilitate initial responses.
In the second half, we'll move into a reflection-application session:
- 'Composting': experienced peers work the material in small groups to sprout new ideas;
- 'Weaving': attendees gather to collectively reflect and question, weaving our experiences together;
- Discuss how we will apply learnings to our personal practice in Reflection Application Pairs (RAPs).
The Speaker
Leslie practices as an analytic coach, working with leaders to hear the unconscious at work in organizational life. Leslie earned her M.A. from UCLA and B.A. from UC Berkeley and is currently a Candidate Scholar at the Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis. She holds the PCC credential from the International Coach Federation and a Master Coach certification from the Hudson Institute of Coaching, where she is a member of the faculty.
